Welcome to my Teacher Leadership Online Portfolio. This site is an opportunity for me to reflect on my experiences as a teacher-leader as well as highlight some of the artifacts I have collected over the previous 15 months as part of my Teacher Leadership Certificate from The State University of New York (SUNY). Because of this certificate, I now feel that I have some of the tools, knowledge, and experience necessary to step up as a leader and start making a more positive difference around me.
For better or worse, I think that the biggest lesson I have learned throughout this experience is very much characterized by the quotation above. As I have mentioned in some of my reflections, this wasn't the lesson I wanted to learn, but perhaps it was the lesson I needed to learn. Because of my passion, I put a lot of heart into what I do, and I take things very personally. I have realized that I need to be a little more careful about who and what I give my energy and attention to.
